Install

Requirements​

  • XenForo 2.3.0 or newer.
  • PHP 7.2 or newer.

Install​

  1. Download the release archive and extract it into your installation. The src/addons/MC/PCBuilds/ directory should sit alongside the other add-ons.
  2. Navigate to AdminCP > Add-ons and click Install next to [MC] PC Builds. The add-on creates its own build and photo tables and registers a new BB code.

First-run checklist​

  1. Visit AdminCP > Setup > Options > [MC] PC Builds. Set Maximum photos per build and Maximum photo file size, decide whether the postbit link should be available, and decide whether the PC Part Picker URL field should be enabled.
  2. If you intend to monetise component links, configure Amazon affiliate links with your Associates tag. See affiliate links.
  3. Navigate to AdminCP > Groups & permissions > Permissions and grant Manage own PC builds, Upload photos to own PC build, and View other users' PC builds to the appropriate groups. See permissions.

Verifying the install​

  • Confirm the add-on is Active at AdminCP > Add-ons.
  • Visit Account > PC build on a member that holds Manage own PC builds. The editor should render with the component sections.
  • Visit any member profile that has a build saved; the PC build tab should be visible to viewers holding View other users' PC builds.
