Ticker and widget
Two surfaces let you place news in the public layout: the global ticker and the homepage widget.
Global ticker
The ticker is a horizontal scrolling band rendered at the top of every public page. Configure it under AdminCP > Setup > Options > [MC] News Aggregator > Ticker.

Logged-in users can hide the ticker from their own preferences without affecting other viewers.
Widget
The add-on registers a widget definition you can drop onto any widget position (homepage, sidebar, forum-list footer, and so on).
- Navigate to AdminCP > Appearance > Widgets.
- Click Add widget.
- Pick the News widget definition.
- Choose the widget position and configure title, item count, and any source filter.
- Click Save.
The widget reads from the same item pool as the public news page, respecting filter, hidden, and duplicate flags.
Hiding the ticker for guests
To gate the ticker behind log-in, revoke View news feed for the Unregistered / Unconfirmed group at AdminCP > Groups & permissions > Permissions. Guests will not see the ticker; the rest of the public site still loads normally.
