Layouts overview
[MC] Forum Layouts adds two alternate layouts on top of the built-in table view. The default layout is set in AdminCP > Setup > Options > [MC] Forum Layouts > Default forum layout. If layout toggling is enabled, visitors can switch and their choice is remembered against their account (or in a cookie for guests).

| Fluid | Flat list of recent threads across the forums the visitor can see, presented as cards with cover images, prefixes, and reactions. |
| Card | One card per forum, each showing the most recent threads in that forum. |
Toggling between layouts
When Allow layout toggle is enabled and the visitor has the Toggle forum layouts permission, a layout switcher appears at the top of the page. The selected layout is stored as the user preference mcForumLayouts_preferredLayout for logged-in members and as a cookie for guests.
Disabling the layout toggle option, revoking the permission, or disabling the alternate layout itself in the AdminCP options removes the corresponding switcher button.
